The style of references of the Modern Language Association, abbreviated as MLA style, is a style and format of bibliographic citation for magazines, books and other types of academic texts. It is used mainly in the humanities and arts areas, specially in philosophy, literary criticism, comparative literature and in interdisciplinary fields, such as cultural studies.
