Answer : The volume of new solution is, 1.65 liter

Solution :

According to the dilution,


M_1V_1=M_2V_2

where,


M_1 = molarity of magnesium nitrate solution = 2.13 M


V_1 = volume of magnesium nitrate solution = 1.24 L


M_2 = molarity of new solution = 1.60 M


V_2 = volume of new solution = ?

Now put all the given values in the above law, we get the volume of new solution.


(2.13M)* (1.24L)=(1.60M)* V_2


V_2=1.65L

Therefore, the volume of new solution is, 1.65 liter
