To race, or D, is the answer. It is the infinitive form because it is the “to ()” form of the verb. The infinitive verb is not modified for tense, person, or number. It is simply the verb.

The infinitive would be race, therefore the answer is D. The infinitive of a sentence is the verb which follows the word to in a sentence, to put it simply.
