false the church did not want anything to do with women because of the controversy over some biblical peoples to name one Mary Magdalene who was depicted as a "wh* ore" and also that Jesus and her did kiss often which shown a bad light on Jesus so until about a century ago women weren't accepted or listened to by others hope this helps good luck
