The first two political parties (assuming you're talking about America) were the Federalist party and the Democratic-Republican party. The Federalists believed in a strong government and executive branch and didn't want a Bill of Rights. They also believed in a centralized national government with fiscal roots. The Dem-Reps wanted a weak central government and focused more on personal liberties and states' rights.
