Bonjour

acute = aigu (masc.) aigüe (fem.)

The acute mark is l'accent aigu.

It only appears above the letter 'e'. It gives the sound 'ay' é / É

écrire = ay-cree- r (to write)

médecin = may-deh- sehn (doctor)

the past participles of the 1st group ending in -er (parler, chanter, aimer) are ending with this acute mark.

parler = parlé

chanter = chanté

aimer = aimé

you'll use those when leaning the passé composé (pass-ay compo-zay)

Hope this helps ☺☺☺

Aigu I think, or just intelligent if you're just talking about smarts
