How are concepts and categories alike? Categories and concepts are ways to group each other. A category can exist without any concepts and vice versa. Concepts and categories involve thoughts. Both require extra reasoning.

The correct answer is - a category can exist without any concepts and vice versa.

Concepts are ideas, thoughts, theories whereas categories are groups of items, objects, animals etc. A concept requires extra reasoning whereas categories do not. A category can be made up of concepts, if you were listing concepts for example but they can exist without them and vice versa. They are not reliant on each other.
