You have a 2 litre jug of 3.5% milk (milk that contains 3.5% fat). How much skim milk (0% fat) do you need to add to it to obtain milk which will have 2% fat?

Required fat in the resultant milk = 2%

Current amount of fat in the milk = 3.5%


\text{Amount of base milk in the whole milk which is to be prepared = }(2)/(3.5)\\\\=0.57

Quantity of milk present = 2 liters
