Some drugs used to inhibit the growth of cancer prevent the formation of spindle fibres in cells. Explain how this helps cancer patients.

When a cell divides it must make sure that each new cell is given ONLY ONE copy of each chromosome, which carries DNA to the new cell. Issues during this cycle can create an incorrect quantity of chromosomes. Drug that inhibit the growth of cancer kill defective cells.

This helps cancer patients by slowing if not eliminating the cancer in certain areas.
