Y is 9 because 2 times 5 is 10, then you take that same 10 and subtract 1 and then you have 9

Answer:

The value of x = 5 and the value of y = 9

Explanation:

It is given that,

x = 5 -----(1)

y = 2x - 1 -----(2)

Using these two equations we can calculate the value of y using substitution method.

Substituting the value of x from eq(1) to eq(2)eq(2) becomes,

y = 2*5 - 1

y = 10 - 1

y = 9

Therefore the value of y = 9 and value of x = 5
