You should have:

a vertex at (1,8)

a y-intercept at (0,6)

a parabola that opens down

and x-intercepts of (-1,0) and (3,0)

Explanation:

To get the vertex, you take the number inside the square (h value) and invert the sign for the x value then take the value on the end (k value) and make that the y. For the y-intercept if you let x=0 then the value you get will be the y value at which the graph hits the axis. For the direction in which the parabola opens if the number in front of the square ((x-h)^2 ) is negative it opens down and if it is positive it opens up. For the x-intercepts if you put either number into the function you will get 0.
