Find the value of the sec 19 degrees using you calculator. (This might be a really simple question but I just don't know how to plug it into my calculator)

Answers: 0.946, 1.011, 0.989, 1.058

the answer is 1.058

Explanation:

The steps on how to put it in your calculator is for sec = 1/cos angle A. so in your calculator you put 1 divided by (cos) then you put the 19 in perenties, then push enter. Then you will get your answer. Hope this helps everyone who dose not know how to put it into there calculator. : )

If you're using a graphing calculator, make sure you're in DEG mode (not RAD). There probably is no button for the secant function, but remember that secant is defined as the reciprocal of cosine:


\sec19^\circ=\frac1{\cos19^\circ}

So on your calculator, you'd type

1/cos(19)

and you should get about 1.0576.
