You can make x any value you like and the value of the left side of this identity will always equal the value of the right side.

So the equation has infinite solutions.

If we solve it for x we see that we get 6 = 6:-

3x + 6 = 3x + 6

3x - 3x + 6 = 6

6 = 6.
