The hypotenuse of a right angled triangle is 15. One of the other sides is 12cm, what
is the length of the other side?

The hypotenuse is the major side of the right triangle, if you look at the options only two of them are smaller than the hypotenuse, the rest cannot be the answer.

Hypotenuse (c) = 15 cm

Cathetus (a) = 12 cm

Cathetus (b) = ?

Equation:
c^(2)=a^(2) +b^(2)

Solution:
b^(2) =c^(2) -a^(2)


b^(2) =(15)^(2) -(12)^(2)


b^(2) =225-144


b^(2)=81


b=√(81)


b=9

The answer is 27 cm and it’s quite simple to solve all u have to do is add 15+12 and u easily get 27
