the answer is D because causation means causing to happen you can tell by looking at the word cause that appears in the word causation. so based off of using the context clues found in the word you can assume that the word means to cause something to happen which leads to your answer D

D. As causation means the causing of something. If you've heard of cause and effect this makes more sense.
