Note that 9 is a perfect square because it can be rewritten as a product of a number and and itself. That is 9 = 3^2. Rewriting our equation gives us:

5* √(3^2) - 3* 2. And yes, the square root and square cancels. For the sake of brevity, we'll just take the principle root (that is, we'll ignore the negative solution).

Doing this just gives us:

5* 3 - 3* 2 = 15 - 6 = 9.

And if you put it on any calculator, they'll give you the positive solution.

Hey there!

5×√9 -3(2)

5(√9) = 15

15-3(2)

3(2) = 6

15-6= 9

Answer: 9

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
