Zebra fish is used as an experimental animal model to investigate the genetic cause of human diseases. It is a fresh-water fish found in rivers and ponds of India. There is no similarity in appearance between zebra fish and humans but actually 70% of genes are similar in humans and in zebra fish. Many genes act in the same way in both the organisms in the development of features such as mouth, eyes, brain spinal cord, liver pancreas. Therefore, any disease causes change in body parts of human may experience similar genetic disease in zebra fish.

Answer:

70% of the human genome is the same as found in the zebrafish.

Step-by-step explanation:

The genetic make-up of zebrafish has shown that 70% of the human genetic make-up is similar to the genetic makeup of zebrafish. The protein coding of genes in both vertebrates is related.

Almost 84% of the genes which cause human genetic diseases are correlated with zebrafish genes. That's why zebrafish experiences the same genetic diseases as humans.
