How do cracks affect the rate of weathering?

The answer is; cracks increases weathering

When water enters the cracks and is heated up, it expands and pushes against the crack from the inside. Also, it is important to note that water also expands when it cools below 4 degrees centigrade. When it does, it causes the cracks to get bigger and cracks the rocks more.
