x=X+Answer:

Explanation:

Given function is f(x) =x

Let this be the parent funciton.

A transformation is done on f(x) such that we find f(x) is transformed to

g(x) = x-a

On observing g(x) we find that there is change only in x coordinate.

x is shifted horizontally to the right by a units

When X=x-a

x=X+a

we have g(x) = X

Thus transformation is shifting horizontally towards right by

"a" units
