This rect. prism has 6 faces, stemming from two each of the areas of the top, the end and the side of the prism.

top surface area: (2x)(3x) = 6x^2

end surface area: (2x)(5x) = 10x^2

side surface area: (3x)(5x) = 15x^2

Total surface area: A = 2(6x^2 + 10x^2 + 15x^2)

or: A = 2(31x^2) = 62x^2
