Britain was afraid that new colony settlements would cause more conflict between Native American and colonists so King George issued the Proclamation of 1763 which prohibitted more settlements in land west to the Appalachian Mountains. Many colonists who wanted good land ignored the Proclamation and this affected American Indians and their hunting territories.
