Lucretia Mott traveled with the support of her husband, as a minister, giving sermons on her free produce and anti-slavery sentiments. She was the only woman to speak at anti-slavery conventions.

Her experience with that gave her the public speaking and organizational skills that other women did not have at the time. Those skills were essential in her fight for women's rights.
