The Clearence Rate is a traditional measure of investigative effectiveness that compares the number of crimes reported or discovered to the number of crimes solved through arrest or other means.

The Clearence Rate consists of calculating the number of cleared crimes dividing it by the crimes recorded. Clearence Rate is supposed to put into numbers the performance of the police.
