Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

The two expressions are equal for all x,y. In fact they are an identity.

Discussion:

(x +2 ) (y + 3) = xy + 3x + 2y + 6 (left hand side of =)

xy + 2y + 3(x+2) = xy + 2y + 3x + 6 (right hand side of =)

As the boldfaced values are equal the left hand side equals the right hand side! Hence the two expressions are equal for all x,y. In fact they are an identity.

Thank you,

MrB
