Explanation:

if you break it down the number in front of the decimal is always the ones place so you know you will start by saying one. then when you get further in to the right you get tenths hundredths and then thousands and on. but this number only goes to the hundredths. you can tell theirs a 0 in the tens place so you wont say a number for that digit but there is an 8 in the hundredths place to you will change 8 hundredths to eight hundredths. so you eventually get one and eight hundredths
