Drag the tiles to the boxes to form correct pairs. Not all tiles will be used.

Polygon ABCD is plotted on a coordinate plane and then rotated 90° clockwise about point C to form polygon A′B′C′D′. Match each vertex of polygon A′B′C′D′ to its coordinates.

Answer:

A' - (8,2)

B' - (5,1)

C' - (4,2)

D' - (4,5)

Explanation:

The vertices of the polygon ABCD have coordinates A(4,6), B(5,3), C(4,2) and D(1,2).

Polygon ABCD is rotated 90° clockwise about point C to form polygon A′B′C′D′ (see attached diagram), then

  • A'(8,2);
  • B'(5,1);
  • C' is the same as C, thus, C'(4,2);
  • D'(4,5).
