The group of students was exercising their right to free speech/protest.
In this case, students have the right to make their voices heard about the topics they are concern the most. It is the perfect space for students to stand for what they believe in while using it as a learning experience.
The free speech/protest (as I like to link it), is guaranteed by the first amendment which talks about the right of free speech an expressions to all, including young people.
