Coral bleaching occurrs when coral polyps expel algae that live inside their tissue.

Hello there!

Coral bleaching is when a certain area in the ocean or other large area becomes too warm for corals. In reaction, corals will expel any algae in their tissues. This causes the coral to turn completely white. This does not mean the coral is dead.
