First we square the parenthesis. Apply FOIL method to multiply


(p+4)^2= (p+4)(p+4)= p^2 + 4p+4p+16= p^2+8p+16

distribute -2 inside the parenthesis


-2p^2-16p-32-3+5p

Now combine like terms
