Which two details support the idea that the ostrich is the largest bird on the earth? Although ostriches are mainly herbivores, they sometimes eat locusts and other insects. Ostriches are found in the savannas and Sahel region of the African continent. When ostriches spread their wings, the wing span is around 7 feet. Many ostriches are as tall as or taller than professional basketball players.
