Trees have all the Characteristics of organisms but they do not move so trees are not living things?

I believe that in the definition of living things they just have to be able to react to their surroundings. Trees are definitely able to change the way they grow depending on what rocks or water or climate is around them. Therefore they fulfill that piece of the criteria for being alive. They are alive.

Some say yes some say no but trees are living, not like us though because we have a brain and a consciousness. So trees are living things.
