Answer- The correct answer would be the second choice.

Explanation- We all know about the gravitational force and the direction of its action. Naturally when an object has gravitation acting on it, it will be pulled towards the ground.

Thus when an object has to move in upward direction the work done would be negative with respect to gravitational pull because it is in the opposite direction but when the object needs to lose height the work done would be positive because it is in the same direction of the gravitational force.
