The superlative form of an adjective should only be used when comparing more than two things.

Example:

Wrong ... "Do you like vanilla or chocolate best ?"

Correct ... "Do you like vanilla or chocolate better ?"

Correct ... "Do you like vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry best ?"
