Quanah Parker led a multitribal alliance of 700 warriors to help remove the threat of buffalo hunters from the plains.

Quanah Parker was the son of Peta Nocona. He was the last chief of the Quahada Comanche Indians. He and others were determined to maintain their independence, or at least have food for their people, so that's why they decided to remove the buffalo hunters. Unfortunatly, they were unsuccessful because the hunters had superior weapons. Many of the Indians were injured and fifteen died. They had to retreat and within one year surrendered their independence and moved to a reservation.
