Final answer:

The Age of Electricity had both positive and negative impacts on the lives of Americans. It brought new forms of entertainment and extended operating hours, but also had negative consequences for workers in terms of long hours and hazardous conditions.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Age of Electricity had both positive and negative impacts on the lives of Americans.

One major positive effect was the introduction of electric light in homes, which allowed people to stay up late for reading or studying. It also enabled the development of night life and illuminated amusement parks and urban pleasure gardens, providing new forms of entertainment for city dwellers.

On the other hand, electrification of workplaces and factories allowed for extended operating hours, leading to increased production. This required more workers, which brought in more people to cities. However, the transition to industrialization also had negative consequences for workers, including long hours, low pay, and hazardous working conditions.

The age of electricity made the lives of Americans both better and worse because electricity help light up the streets, but made it dirtier at the same time. It made work a lot easier, it made it more easier to see things which led to work being more easy and accurate. Because of the industrial businesses growing, electricity made pollution grow tremendously, since it was more easier to work so people worked more. Electricity also exploited to amount of immigrants and child labor at that time, and that made businesses use a lot more electricity, this led to what is known as the urban blight, or urban decay.
