Why did the delegates of the Philadelphia convention create the electoral college? Has the electoral college proven an effective system for electing the president? Provide support for your conclusions.

The Electoral college had to elect the President and the reason why it was created was because the delegates of the Philadelphia Convention had fear that democracy would lead to group mobilization.

The Framers granted the president the veto acts of Congress too.
