Rosa Parks was called the mother of the civil rights movement because one day, she sat in the front of the bus which is for white people. She refused to get up when a white man came along and went to jail. She was black and blacks were supposed to sit in the back of the bus but instead, she decided to sit in the front of the bus. Hope this helps! :)
