The house the doctor rented , an out house, was pretty much shattered.The doctor could see the roof covered by tiles because there was no ceiling. Because it has probably been abandoned or out of use for quite some time, the house was so dirty it was frequented by rats.The room was hot , too so he had to go outdoors to get some fresh air.There was no electricity in the house either so it was not possible for him to get a fan .To have some light at night he had to use a kerosene lamp.
