How did the delegates correctly resolve this issue?

State governors must wait 5 years before running for the Executive Branch.
Members of Congress could not be be elected to the Executive Branch.
No single person would be able to inherit the Executive Branch like a king.
The Executive Branch could not be former members of the Supreme Court.

The "Great Compromise" allowed for both by establishing the House of Representatives, which was apportioned by populations, and the Senate which represented the states equally.
