Explanation:

If we know that Brad completes 1/6 of his project every 40 days, that means it will take him 40 x 6 days to complete this project. If where to write this down as an equation we get the following.

Let "x" be the total number of days Brad needs to finish his project, then....


(1)/(6) x = 40 days


((1)/(6) x)(6) = (40)(6)days


x = 240 days
