When it's talking about going to the infinity, negative or positive, it just means when the line is going down with no end on the graph (in regards to y because that would be a vertical amount aka up and down). When it's in regards to x, it's the same concept except if it's negative infinity for x, it's on the left side. And if it's positive infinity for x, it's on the right side.
