  • A binomial is an expression having two terms.
  • A trinomial is an expression having three terms.

  1. Here -6 is a monomial having a single term -6.
  2. -5 + x is a binomial containing two terms -5 and x.
  3. 32x - y is a binomial having two terms 32x and -y.
  4. 6x² + 5x - 3 is a trinomial having three terms 6x², 5x and -3.
  5. z² +2 is a binomial having two terms z² and 2.
