Indian ocean is the 3rd largest ocean in the world and, is located in the southern hemisphere.
The southern hemisphere is majorly covered with water and, only 20 percent of the area is made up of land.
There are many water bodies that are included in this hemisphere. Some of the examples are South Atlantic and south pacific ocean and some seas such as coral sea.
However, it is the Indian ocean whose entire basin lies in the southern hemisphere.
