The Gross National Product
The growth of the American economy is measured yearly. The total dollar value
of all goods and services (such as cars, houses, and repairs) is added up. This
total is called the Gross National Product (GNP). In some years, certain
products will sell better than in other years. Businesses rely on the GNP to know
what to expect in the way of future sales of their products or services.
