What happens if the moon has too much of an acceleration from the gravitational interaction with the sun

There would be a huge increase in gravity, while a decrease in mass means a decrease in gravity. So if the sun spontaneously lost half of its mass and the suns pull would be weaker, our orbit would increase ( of course, a smaller sun+ larger orbit = not fun times)
