Does the concept of “evil” have to be tied to a concept of God? Why or why not?

Answer: Christian Science believes that evil arises from a misunderstanding of the goodness of nature, which is understood as being inherently perfect if viewed from the correct (spiritual) perspective. Misunderstanding God's reality leads to incorrect choices, which are termed evil. It seems that we cannot capture the moral significance of these actions and their perpetrators by calling them 'wrong' or 'bad' or even 'very very wrong' or 'very very bad. ' We need the concept of evil. ... By contrast, moral evils do result from the intentions or negligence of moral agents.
