Answer: 15 containers

Explanation:

Each container can hold 3 seashells but he has 47 seashells in his collection.

The number of containers that can take these shells is;

= 47 / 3

= 15.67

The number of containers that he can fill up completely is 15 containers.

After 15 containers, he will only be able to fill up 0.67 of the next container.
