Read this excerpt from "The Song of Wandering Aengus” by William Butler Yeats.

I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;

Which pattern describes the rhyme scheme of this stanza?

It is XAXA because X means not rhyming with anything else and A is for the first rhyming pair. Here the rhyme skips to every other line, the second and fourth.
