Do you think it could be ethical to hunt a species to extinction to meet the needs and wants human society

Every modern day species has evolved to the point of having a necessary function and aid other species in some sort of way. It one species dies off, it could create a domino effect, hurting other species. So no it isn’t ethical to kill off a species solely to cater to humans.
