One of them was the desire to just k*ll Polyphemus, the Cyclops, after they had gotten him to pass out. Another was Odysseus overcame the temptation to sleep with Circe before freeing his men. One of the biggest temptations they faced was when they were going to pass by the Sirens, Odysseus had already been warned by Circe that he would need to plug his crew’s ears with beeswax and have them tie him to the ship so he could not go towards the Sirens. He did this splendidly and his crew resisted two great temptations that same day, one was the temptation to listen to the song of the Sirens and the other was the temptation to release Odysseus when he was commanding them, under the spell of the Sirens’ song, to dos so. Odysseus could not overcome the temptation to call to Polyphemus and brag of his escape. When they were almost to Ithaca, Odysseus’ crew could not resist the urge to open the sack he had brought along.
